The Leap motion input device is guaranteed to be groundbreaking in the way we interact in three dimensions with the computer.
I don’t have time to waste waiting for my computer to start or applications to load. It’s good to have 4 processors and a solid state hard drive with no moving parts, to speed things up. For ultimate speed and security I rely on the Linux operating system. To give you an idea, my computer will boot from power off to a complete desktop in less than five seconds. I measured opening the internet browser at 0.2 seconds.
Good tools ensure effective work, maximising productivity and putting focus where it should be.
“The possession of Knowledge, unless accompanied by a manifestation and expression in Action, is like the hoarding of precious metals-a vain and foolish thing. Knowledge, like wealth, is intended for Use. The Law of Use is Universal, and he who violates it suffers by reason of his conflict with natural forces.”
– The Kybalion
I wake up. It’s friday. The time when my vision returns from a white blur I notie is 13:13. I begin my day responding to emails from coworkers I received this morning like nothing happened. Another day for this Luciferian. But how so?
Intelligence is seing possibilities and using them, even when faced with an enormous task or massive adversary. People usually ask me for help during times of personal crisis where my friends see nothing but problems. Like yesterday, when a friend for some reason had not managed to do a five-day home-exam in psychology, a thesis on neuroscience. Which I was suprised to hear had to be completed until today this morning. Leaving around 12 hours to complete the task.
My back is aching, but I know another friend will come over soon and fix it. Having friends as allies is important though even how many people we surround ourself with, a Luciferian is ultimately alone. Spending 12 hours fixing someone’s psych exam, even a friend, does not come cheap, mind you. Not in terms of money or the favor I expect in return.
When confronted with the task of writing a 3000 word diagnosis of a for a patient with brain damage, when you only have eleven X-ray (actually MRI) slices, is interesting to say the least. Especially when this is something I normally don’t work with. My friend knows the latin names of all the areas in the brain in theory, but didn’t have the practical sense to attack the task of diagnosing in a systematical way.
As Luciferian I think any problem can be solved as long as the pieces of the puzzle is there: (1) My television with an uplink to my computer using software that can display MRI images and show where everything is and where it is connected. (2) The X-rays, showing the damaged areas.(3) Someone who knows the names and location of all areas in Latin.
I attacked the problem by identifying which Z-coordinate each X-ray slice had, and found the most probable sequence the hospital took in the catscan was a pattern: -21, -11, -4, +1, +4, +11, +21, +25, +37, +45, +57. These are universal coordinates. Then, using the 30-or-so named main areas of the brain, I just made a simple matrix containing columns for each slice (with Z coordinate) and checked each area of the brain, crossing off where a certain named area of the brain, and an affected damaged area, matched.
The analysis was done in around 15 minutes, presenting around 12 affected areas, which when put together in context all affected memory, motor and speech, and other evidence pointed to Parkinson’s disease. The actuall time spent was to explain it in 3000 words with correct references to other people’s work, a particularly boring and (pardon the pun) brain-damaged way of doing modern scientific work these days, where little innovation and much quoting of other research seems to be the norm.
Anyway I learned a lot about how the brain works, and that analyzing a brain-damaged patient is not necessarily more difficult than solving problems in large computer networks which is more similar to what I normally spend my time doing. Then maybe the brain is a computer? Time to reboot.
Sometimes being around adepts in ceremonial Magick makes me wonder what it is like knowing the Royal Secret.
I have seen the look in their eyes. I have even seen it happen, the change from one day to the next day, when adepthood was reached and the person became enlightened, it used to be a happy look, but it is the same pitiful look a parent gives to a child who asks if Santa Claus really exists, and the parent is unable to keep lying.
What could be such a terrible truth it must remain hidden from the uninitiated?
Today I pondered the question, then I realized suddenly, the relation between Man, Nature and the Universe.
Of course only to my current level of understanding. But I am beginning to think I am onto the solution.
I cannot explain very well except through these points that may serm unrelated but which adds up to hinting at the solution.
1) occultists cannot be happy unless they search for and try to understand te universe – the hard way – which is to work with, know, and master controlling reality.
2) normal people can be happy without.
3) adepts are occultists who learned to live like normal people. Each moment in time is a mystery, sacred and magickal.
4) the universe doesnt change, the magickian does.
5) buddha, jesus, crowley all understood basically the same
Mystery but the answer became filtered through the limits imposed by language. Crowley realized this perhaps better than the two first examples so his ego made damn sure the story would be told according to HIS understanding, but this understanding is only his reality, and unless you make his reality your reality it won’t work for you.
6) simple test right now: what unique idea or concept defines the real you – if you for a moment take away language and cultural references to describe? Instead how would you describe yourself if you could use no words at all?
Rarely as I watch television, I do sometimes notice what is in the mainstream media. Of particular interest are the post-apocalyptic Zombie themes that have increased in number in popular media these days. There is MTV’s “Death Valley“, and the second season has just started of “The Walking Dead”, another TV series that provides a chilling atmosphere of human survivors having to defend against infected undead zombies that attack in numbers from everywhere, with plenty of blood and gore.
Then, it becomes natural to ask: why? Obviously the characters in the movie/series are just trying to survive. But what nerve does such a series strike in us, and why is it popular, and more importantly, whynow?
Zombie movies is nothing new, they existed as horror feature films and sometimes series airing late at night and the level of violence was reserved. Now, the trend is earlier broadcast time, and a general exposure, and even product placement in the series, the Gerber Apocalypse Kit from Gerber gear which usually makes tactical equipment for the military.
The first thought would be this: The collective unconsciousness is perhaps preparing for the impending disaster to come, from climate change, or collapse of the economy or both, a total collapse of society as we know it?
Then it struck me that unconscious or not, this huge exposure to zombies are a perfect propaganda tool, what is essentially happening is that people watching, by emotionally connecting with the protagonists, getting used to thinking in terms of friend/enemy, and making fast choices such as fight/flight, and preparations (protection, water, defensive measures).
Making the enemy into a monster is the perfect way to train the population to kill that enemy. Then, it is too early to say, who is the enemy. Maybe the zombie is a monsterized symbol for disease, maybe it’s pollution, or maybe it is the inevitable fight between the rich world and the poor world. Something is going to happen, I think most people will agree. We just don’t know what.
“Prepping” is becoming part of mainstream, and it has opened up a market for tools, techniques, and survivalist information to prepare for a coming disaster. I think it is good to be prepared for a situation where your local police may not be able to help you, and the society’s support system may fail. I am not digging a nuclear shelter in my garden or storing water for a year, but it is always good to know how to store seeds and sprouts, and what to do IF any disaster may happen and you cannot trust the authorities to help you.
It’s also good to know how to find and grow your own food and to keep a kitchen garden. Many seeds can be found in the food you buy every day.
And here’s a great write-up on 7 things to prepare in case the worst hits the worst. : http://survivalcache.com/bug-out-bag/
Venus is in Retrograde now and for the next six weeks.
The phenomenon known as Venus Retrograde occurs approximately every twenty months when, for about six weeks, Venus travels in reverse motion against the backdrop of stars. Of course, it doesn’t really move backwards, but only appears to do so from our point of view here on Earth.
Greek astrologers called the morning phase of Venus Lucifer (“the light bearer”).
According to astrological belief, while Venus is retrograde, old friends and/or lovers may reenter one’s life. During this period, financial returns are apt to be delayed and affection is more difficult to receive and express. Beginning a new relationship, buying luxury items and investing in objects of art or items of beauty is generally discouraged during the retrograde period. Venus retrograde is a good time to reflect on your values, to review your relationships and to donate your energy to a charitable cause.
Say useful things, or say nothing at all – I don’t say anything unless it’s useful or interesting. I will not write an article that I do not enjoy reading myself. I will not keep a blog unless I read every article myself, checking back on them. Although full-blooded Norwegian, I share a trait with the Japanese. I loathe the pestering idle chitchat that is so commonly a plague among europeans. I will sometimes not reply to something people say, and in our western culture, people tend to get very uneasy about this. But sometimes it is not worth saying anything, and people who know me well knows that silence can speak volumes. This is especially useful in romantic situations where usually the first one who speaks ruin the moment.
Do everything with a creator’s mind – Everything I make or bring into existance, must follow certain principles of taste, tactfullnes, and aesthetics. Any piece of writing, song, painting or work should be elegant, simple, and integrate well with other similar work of high quality. Everything I make should meet my standard of quality and should ideally transmit a microimpression of my values and ideals.
Know when to fight, and when not to fight – Applying the tacticts of Sun-Tzu. I strongly dislike lies and treachery so I will be brutally honest, even sometimes to my strategic disadvantage for a short time, since in the long time, although truth can sometimes hurt, truth will outlive lies. If I have to, I will remain silent, until the decisive move. I will avoid direct confrontation so as not to waste my time and energy on people and entities that are not relevant to me. When necessary I will create a confrontation to put my perspective into full light – should there be any doubts about my determination.
Allies and friends – in every stratum of societies, I keep friends and allies that in different levels, even from right to left, and according to different abilities are able to come to my assistance at a moment’s notice, for any type of problem that may occur; from simple and mundane matters as a broken pipeline or car engine problem, to more serious problems like personal threats or spiritual advice from gurus or zen monks, or legal help, or advice in economic matters, or when I need help from the secret underworld, or the more diciplined army-type Special Forces. It’s funny to say I also know a ninja, but he really is a black-belt ninjutsu practicioner, and the wierd thing is I got him into martial arts when we were kids. His life would later be very complicated but I know he saved my ass once, of which I am ever grateful.
With style – I try to do mistakes with style, otherwise, I just think to hell with everyone.
I see clouds pass by over my head high up in the sky. The weather is grey and winds are picking up.
I know that, behind the chaotic layer of earth, fire, air and water, the stars and galaxies shine their light, totally unaware of this.
In a moment I sense a connection – my body is a cloud passing by affected by the elements, while my spirit have communion with the stars unaware of this illusion called existance.

It’s mainly there to function as a way of displaying images from my computer, or to offer visitors a way to follow their favourite TV shows, or to provide a way to play videogames (usually done by visitors – I never have time).
I terminated the license years ago, and the Norwegian state broadcasting sent a threatening letter that I should surrender the TV set. Of course I refuse and after many years they have given up the fight.
I have Facebook but it’s closed to friends only. It’s sometimes useful as my younger friends don’t know the difference between an email and an Instant Message. Plus I get to see my friends comment on local or international events, share pictures and so on. I can see when people have birthdays. Social networks are as useful as your real social network. But the digital version of your social network should never replace your real network.
Here is the danger; a new generation is being programmed not to write (paper)letters or emails, they are always connected and communicate through SMS and Instant Chat, and think that whoever is not connected to this digital world – simply are excluded.
I notice how young people lose the art of communication and especially the art of dialogue between humans. I can sit at a café and have a conversation with someone, but the moment that person reaches for his iPhone or Android tablet, that person is out of the conversation and has disappeared into.. what? Something useful? Hardly. It can wait.
Twitter sucks, I cannot suffer being restricted to a 100-or-so-characters-only kind of medium.
It’s like thinking on what to write on your tomb:
Why I was on this planet (in 134 characters)
